VBS Audition - 2007/05/30 22:27 A few weeks ago I signed up to be a "student actor" at my church, aka do skits for the elementary school kids. I told my friend Jeff about it because he does it too, and yesterday we were talking online and he brought it up. Then he mentioned that Vacation Bible School was looking for a girl to do the skits because their lead had dropped out. He asked me to do it. I was really excited at first. I had been getting kind of bored lately with nothing to do and this would be a great way to pass the time especially because a ton of my friends (that I don't get to see very often) were in it. Whoops. Turns out I know NO ONE in the cast. I was pretty hesitant to do it but then the lady who was running it called and just sounded so desperate...so I decided to go ahead and audition. There were four other girls there to audition for the part. We read from the script and then the ladies running it went out in the hall to talk...and cast it on the spot! Why? There was a rehearsal in 10 minutes! As you can probably guess from this being posted on the Brag Board, I got the part. But I really felt sorry for the other girls! There were a couple who had never acted before, and they were rejected in front of everybody! It seems so harsh when you're not used to that kind of stuff.

So I wasn't REALLY excited about it or anything, but I stayed and rehearsed and it was actually pretty fun! I play an outspoken English girl who washes ashore on a beach with her brother, and (eventually, there are about 6 parts to the show) teaches the pirates how not to be selfish. Haha. Well, sorry for writing a novel, just thought I'd share that with you!

Heehee... I don't think that pirates need any help learning how to be selfish. Good job!
Hey yo!
Let's go to the mo-fro (Melody Freeze),
To get a fro yo (frozen yogurt),
then we'll stop by the scho-sho (Scholorshop),
on our way to WYSO (World Youth Symphony Orchestra)!

Just a little saying from Interlochen, possibly one of the greatest places on the globe!
