Joseph - 2007/04/30 19:00 On Saturday, I auditioned for Joseph..Dreamcoat at a theatre in a town not to far from me and I got in! I'm only in the chorus but I'm still happy that I got in at all. It was my first time auditioning for this company and I wasthe only one at the audition who wasn't friends with the director so even though I didn't get the part I wanted, I'm still really happy. Plus it's gonna be a good learning experience since I'm the youngest in the adult chorus and I'll be working with adults instead of other teens. -Georgia

Current Show: West Side Story - Clarice
Recent Shows: Carousel - Principal Dancer, Ensemble, A Christmas Carol - Lily, Charwoman, Charitable Gentleman, Principal Dancer, Ensemble; Rootabaga Stories-multiple roles; Joseph... Dreamcoat -Wives Chorus

Re:Joseph - 2007/04/30 19:07 That's awesome! It's always such a wonderful experience to work with adults. I've done two shows with adults, and they were my two very favorites. I actually made a lot of friends! Even though I'm 14 and there's this huge age gap, we still hang out all the time! It's great to be around people who are performing for a living. I became great friends with a woman who studied theatre at Ithaca College and pursued acting in New York. She came back home to Texas for a year to take a break and earn some money, and she's going back in January. I'm going to miss her so much! She's been such a mentor to me. •••♥♫♥•••

Re:Joseph - 2007/04/30 19:10 I just looked at your profile and noticed you've worked with Kids Who Care...are you in the D/FW area? I've almost auditioned for them before (but didn't, I found out too late) and have been eying them for a while now...wow, if it's the same one (which it probably is...that's not a common name)...that's so cool! •••♥♫♥•••

Re:Joseph - 2007/04/30 22:38 Congratulations Georgia! That's wonderful!! As Faith said, are you in the DFW area? And Faith...are you? I live in Corinth...just south of Denton...just north of Dallas and Fort Worth!

Georgia, if you are in the area, which theatre is it? I would love to see a community version of Joseph when it comes out! Congrats again! It's great that you got a part, even in the chorus.

Re:Joseph - 2007/04/30 23:01 I've never been in Joseph but I've done choreography for it - it was such a fun show to work on because of all the different styles. I think it's the only time my choreography has covered lyrical, western, sock hop, and disco all in one show!

Congrats!

Re:Joseph - 2007/05/03 12:49 Thanks everybody. Yes, I am from DFW; Fort Worth born and raised. I'm doing this show with Carnegie Players in Cleburne. Y'all should both definitely come see it. It'll be performing June 22, 23, 29, 30 and July 1 at Cleburne HIgh School. I have performed with Kids Who Care 3 times and I love it! Faith, you should definitely audition for them. They have 2 camps this summer, 1 in June and 1 in July. I'm doing July camp this year, wouldn't it be cool if we met there?! They also have a resident company and a Christmas show, all of which are really fun. Btw, if y'all don't already do this you should go to www.dfwtheater.com and sign up for their audition newsletter. That's how I found out about this theater. Before I got the newsletter, I didn't even know there was a theater in Cleburne. -Georgia

Re:Joseph - 2007/05/05 14:09 I'm in DFW too! I get the newsletter...it's basically how I find all of my audition information...
I've been looking at Kids Who Care for a while now, but I've always been too busy. This summer I'm taking summer school (for acceleration to get some credits out of the way, not for failing!) and don't have much time during July I'm a little far to join the resident company or do a show if I would be in ensemble (it just wouldn't be worth the drive) but I definitely would like to audition sometime!

Re:Joseph - 2007/05/05 17:08 AHHH!!! Great job!!! I don't know if I'll be able to come and see it, but I want to! Joseph is one of the funnest shows ever. Faith, I did Kids Who Care for years, and it is a good company to get started in. Kid friendly shows and all that jazz. Just one note about them: it's very difficult to get a lead with them if you haven't done shows with them for years, even if you are good. The director likes to choose the same people for leads every time, so if you do join, don't be disappointed if you don't get a lead for a while. Hey yo!
Let's go to the mo-fro (Melody Freeze),
To get a fro yo (frozen yogurt),
then we'll stop by the scho-sho (Scholorshop),
on our way to WYSO (World Youth Symphony Orchestra)!

Just a little saying from Interlochen, possibly one of the greatest places on the globe!

Re:Joseph - 2007/05/12 01:08 Thanks! Hey Sarah, I got a lead in only my second show for KWC and the first show I hadn't even auditioned for, I had just signed up for the camp. Seriously, I think I had the most lines of any girl in the show! But Faith, I understand not wanting to drive that far. It's so annoying just how spread out DFW is. -Georgia
