what a week! - 2007/04/03 03:41 oh man, what a week, and its only Tuesday!! (and just barely tuesday since its 3:33am)

on sunday i finished a 2week run of Annie
on monday i started rehearsals for Plaza Suite

but the best part of monday was getting my acceptance from Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts!!!
its a private college in Toronto, right in Mirvish Village actually, that is completly about triplethreat training (and no, i dont mean they train people to try and overthrow Kris -as if anyone could! )

im incredibly excited about this news since its the first acceptance ive gotten this year, and hopefully i wont have to turn everywhere down like last year bc im broke **keeping my fingers crossed for OSAP and student loans**

but of course, once i told my mother of my acceptance all she said was "and just where are you planning on getting $50,000 from?" yup, thanks for your congratulatory words mother, i love you too

but thats okay!!! somehow ill scrape up the cash, even if i have to put myself into crazy debt to do it, this place is amazing!!

its a completly bohemian setting and its backed by the Mirvish company so when they cast they often cast right out of the school!!! its such a great oppourtunity and such a great stepping stone, i really hope i end up there in september!!
Nikki!!
currently rehearsing: Lady Viola/Cesario (Twelfth Night), Joan of Arc (a raisin in the sun)

Re:what a week! - 2007/04/03 20:36 Congratulations and Hooray for you! One of my friends was in the exact same situation. She was in Grease and then had to prepare her audition for Cornish (a PA school) and she was totally wiped out, so basically I've seen what it takes(can't wait to do it though!) The opposite of Rent is Oklahoma!!! Why didn't I think of that?

Re:what a week! - 2007/04/08 22:36 oh wow! im jealous! as far as the tuition goes what i'd do is talk with your mom, propose an amount for her to pay (like the tuition of a "normal" college) then you agree to pay the rest...then get a job. another suggestion if your mom agrees to pay a set amount is move out and i don't mean into a dorm...it sounds bad, but you'll get more financial aid that way, i speak from experience. and if they have ramon noodles in canada (i'm sure they do) get used to eating them alllllll the time, cuz it's all you'll be able to afford ...again, speaking from experience. another thing you can do is try to find a compy to work for that will pay back a portion of tuition. like right now i work for a company that will reimburse up to $5000 of tuition a year...if you can get a job for a cmpany like that, that will help out a whole freakin lot. also go on the internet and apply for EVERY scholarship you can find. no matter how odd the requirements are...its a fast way to build up some $$$
