if you are allowed to sing a song from Beauty and the Beast, i think Home would be the best one. the title song, Beauty and the Beast is VERY overdone. And even though it was originally a disney movie, DO NOT sing a disney song, lol. they get so old, the directors will hate it. as for monologues, i'm stumped. i hate doing monologues!
i also hate competition! when audition time comes around, just tell yourself you can do it (more than once!), and auditions are easy. it works.
