Re:why i think i'd like being famous - 2007/05/13 23:46 I had a VERY similar thing happen to me.

Well, last summer I played Tumnus in a production of Narnia The Musical in Laguna Beach, California (YES I LIVE NEAR LAGUNA BEACH - NO ONE THROW A FIT! ). I received A LOT of positive feedback about my performance - including numerous compliments from adult actors in Laguna Beach and even a few vocal coaches from California colleges. Very exciting stuff.

So a few months later, I was playing the role of a singer in a rock band in the West Coast Premiere of The Great Squirrel Uprising at the Laguna Playhouse, a local regional theatre company. After one show while signing autographs, a woman approached me with a whole group of little girls (probably around age seven or eight). She said excitedly, "Oh my goodness... Didn't you star as Tumnus in Narnia? You are so talented! I brought these same girls to see that one too, and you were their favorite part in both shows!" I just graciously thanked her and signed the girls' autograph books, but OH MY GOSH - THAT IS SO COOL!

It was SO flattering to be recognized, especially since I couldn't have been any less recognizable! In Narnia, I was fully equipped with Tumnus's ginormous goat-like thighs, an airbrushed beard, and my natural and wild curly hair. In the second show, I wore pleather pants and a long, straight, NEON PINK wig!

It's so great to have people compliment you in the first place, but to hear that you are their favorite and for them to recognize you... Amazing!!
My Name Is: Lisa! And I'm fifteen!
Upcoming Auditions: The Pajama Game
Favorite Roles: Tumnus in Narnia The Musical & the Narrator (the Artful Dodger) in A Christmas With Scrooge.

Re:why i think i'd like being famous - 2007/05/14 11:05 I got "recognized' another time, too, but I think I was confused with someone else, LOL. I was going into my agent's building for a workshop when this little girl came out from the younger workshop, saw me, and pointed. She said, "Mommy, look, that was the girl I saw in-" and then they went into the elevator and i couldn't heat anymore. I can't think of what she could possbily have seen me in- I mean, I'd done Law and Order, but all you saw was my back. The only two possibilities I can think of are that she had me confused with someone else or she saw my picture somewhere in the office. It was kind of cool, though. Auditioning for: Brigadoon, theatre season, American Music Theatre, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, and AMDA.
