Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2007/12/14 09:08I love the one in the first thread that said "You kiss someone on stage who is in a relationship and it's not considered cheating"
love that! That happened to me last year, his girlfriend came to 3 of the 4 shows and sat in the front row every night. It was one of those really long overdrawn, supposed to make everyone in the audience feel uncomfortable, kisses. She didn't like it too much.
I have one, it just happened me.
-Your friend looks over at you during school noticing you're on a "Musical Theatre Audition" forum and says "You are SUCH a dork.."
Others: -The way you greet all friends (homosexual and not..) is by jumping on them and giving lots of hugs and kisses -Every word makes you think of a musical. -You own at least one shirt/sweatshirt/hat/sweatpants that say things like "Actors do it on stage", "Thespians", or "Techies do it in the dark"
these are priceless"If life seems jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten. And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing"
Currently: Nothing! So sad..
Favorite Roles: Cosette in Les Miserables
Dream Roles: Lady of the Lake (Spamalot), Val (A Chorus Line), Millie Dillmount (Thoroughly Modern Mille)

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2007/12/14 18:59You were asked to say a prayer in church and accidentally started reciting lyrics from 'Bring Him Home'.
You have an intricate plan to see Sweeney Todd on premeire night even though it's R-rated and keep the plan carefully guarded.
When your friend tells you when a party starts, etc. you find yourself asking when call is.
When your costume was nowhere to be found for the scene you had in thirty seconds, you ran out of the backstage changing room in your bra and pantyhose, grabbed a dress that looked like it may fit off the costume rack after assuring that your costume has gone AWOL, throw it on and go onstage. And they find the dress once your scene is over.
Your motto is 'It's live theatre, anything can happen' and have stories to back it up.
when you go into a boutique your friends flock to the necklaces while you buy double-stick body tape.
You were babysitting and the kids started watching High School Musical. You screamed and turned off the TV, pointing out the evils of the movie, and call Blockbuster to see if they have a copy of the TAC. It's time to show these nine year olds REAL musical theatre.-Ali

Probably a silly question but what's TAC?To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man. William Shakespeare

- You HAVE no non-theatre kid friends. (I wish I was exaggerating with this one).
- You don't say "Goodbye," you say "Goodnight, goodnight, parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say goodnight till it be morrow."
- You wish it weren't Christmas break because you'd rather be rehearsing.
- On Cast List Day, you bring a supply of "Chocolate Band Aids- for Life's Little Boo-boos" in case of disappointment.- Caitlin / Cait -

Re:You Know You're A Theatre Kid If... - 2007/12/23 16:19~ You have the entire show memorized before the auditions ~The reason you have it memorized is because you've already been it it before ~You get followed around by third graders who repeatedly wish you "Good luck!" because they enjoy watching you freak out at them ~Your email address has something to do with theatre ~You're constantly being recognized around town as "So and so from that play" ~You go to babysit a kid for the first time, and you have to babysit them five times before they stop calling you [insert character name here] because they saw you're show last weekend ~Your teacher threatens to deduct points if she gets any more notes with random theatre quotes or castles on clouds drawn in the margins ~You get a 0 on a quiz because you accidentally wrote your character's name instead of your ownThis isn't a golf tournament, being loud is more than acceptable!
