I haven't got to see it on Broadway yet - I have to! Of course I'd prefer to see it with Adam Pascal but I'm not choosy.Name: Devyn

Re:What shows need to be revived???? - 2008/02/04 20:34Has anyone ever heard of "Destry Rides Again"? It starred Andy Griffith. I have the CD and it has one of the funniest scores I've ever heard. I believe it played in the very early 1960's before "The Andy Griffith Show". Perhaps the late 1950's. The director / choreographer was the late, great Michael Kidd. There was a dance number in it that was called "the whip dance". I never saw it, but it was really suppose to be something to see. When I listen to the music, it is just as funny or funnier than "The Producers". Mel Brooks acknowledges the show in the film version of "The Producers". A poster of "Destry...." is part of the Broadway theatre billboards in front of the theatre where "Springtime For Hitler" opens. I've never seen a production anywhere. I've been watching for it for years. I'd go see it even if it were just a little "Middle School" production.

Re:What shows need to be revived???? - 2008/03/15 10:29Les Mis, Sweeney Todd, Sound of Music and my Fair Lady. And oh why not? I'll add in Anything Goes.
Phantom needs to get its butt off Broadway. NOW. It's been on long enough. Let other musicals have a turn."Doctor Who, Doctor Who, does whatever a doctor can do.."
PREVIOUSLY: Sister Magaretta in The Sound Of Music
CURRENTLY: Les Misérables directed by Ivan Rutherford ))
UP COMING: Senior Ensemble's next show

Re:What shows need to be revived???? - 2008/03/21 19:32I love "Ragtime" and would like to see it revived, but at the same time I want to embrace the original with Bryan Stokes Mitchell, Audra MacDonald, and Marin Mazzie (and Lea Michele as the little girl)
On another note, I really would like to see more ORIGINAL musicals. When I say original, I mean it. Not based on movies or revivals of past hits (though most of the revivals are excellent and I was sad to see Company go).
I am truly excited about "In the Heights," which opened this month. It is my hope that "[title of show]" isn't too far behind.Danielle
Upcoming Auditions: "Into the Woods" (Fall 2008); "Noises Off" (Fall 2008); "How I Learned to Drive" (Fall 2008)
Dream Roles: Eponine (Les Miserables), Baker's Wife (Into the Woods), Emma Goldman (Ragtime), and Marcy (I Love You Because)

Re:What shows need to be revived???? - 2008/04/05 15:54Jason Robert Brown's Parade needs to be revived... The original production was a critical success but not a commercial one. A new Broadway production could be a hit, I'm hoping.
Also, the failed 80's musical "Baby" could probably be a cool revival, I think.

Re:What shows need to be revived???? - 2008/04/15 00:11i say Sweeney Todd (the original version with the double decker set and all that good stuff... i didn't care for the "revival" they already did), City of Angels would be really cool, and I would love to see Urinetown.
