The Music Man - 2008/04/20 17:08 The drama director at my school has been dropping hints that next year's show is going to be The Music Man (he also says he likes my acting style, so I have my fingers crossed) I am planning to audition for either Mrs. Paroo or Eulalie Shinn. I am a mezzo with a range of D3 to G5, and my speaking voice is kind of low. (although I can change the way I talk depending on the character) Which part would I be more likely to get? ~Sarah~

Upcoming: Once On This Island

Past Shows: Godspell, Damn Yankees, Little Shop of Horrors, Grease, Guys and Dolls

Re:The Music Man - 2008/04/20 20:27 Well, are you able to do the accent for Mrs. Paroo? I believe Mrs. Paroo is a Mezzo and Eulalie is an Alto. Personally i like the role of Eulalie better than Mrs. Paroo, Eulalie can be hilarious if her role is played right, and in my opinion, the fact that your speaking voice is kind of low would be perfect for Eulalie's character.

Music Man is a great show!!! I would love to be in it someday!!! Break a leg at auditions!!!

Re:The Music Man - 2008/04/20 20:55 This is really an impossible question to answer. No one can ever predict the outcomes of the casting process, especially without knowing who else will audition and what skills they may have.

Just do your best, break a leg and trust the audition panel to put you in the best role for you and the show.
