I normally have a pair of pajama shorts with me at rehearsal for when you realize at the last minute that your costume is see through.

Haha, this happened to me last year in Cymbeline. I usually remembered to wear normal-coloured underwear for my relatively see-through Jupiter costume, but one night I forgot... and wore a bright blue thong. Luckily one of my friends had a pair of white shorts that I wore underneath, but there are still people who will not let me live that down.

That happened to me during Romeo and Juliet Because My dress was thin and light pink I grabbed a pair of shorts out of the pile of clothes we had (Everyone brought in there 80's style clothes to help out the ones having costume trouble.) I then Couldn't breeathe because I grabed shorts that were like 2 sizes too small.

Re:The Theatre Performer's Essentials - 2008/04/24 07:04 l'll sometimes bring a lint brush especially when working with a Toto.

I always try to get a corner of the dressing room (or stage in my last show, I hardly ever stepped into the dressing room), but keep a tally of your stuff, because unfortunetly in high school esp. there are sticky hands....

That's not weird, it's actually a really good idea! But I actually keep a slip that fits me and some nude underthings in the dressing room. Ohkay... I need-
*Pond's Cold Cream (to remove stage makeup)
*Like four bottles of metromint ((spearmint & peppermint flavor))water (I drink ALOT)
*Bobby pins (esp if I have an updo for my part)
*A small laser light (it helps me find my costumes and isn't bright enough to be noticed offstage)
*Safety pins (my skirt ripped so many times in this last production you wouldn't believe it)
*Script (to take notes of any suggestion made, or audience response to something new we tried)
*my iPod (I always have to listen to show tunes or bernadette peters to calm my nerves. only during hair and makeup, though. then i listen to the music from the show to get in character)
*digital camera (crazzzy moments backstage :])
*extra stage lipstick (i always reapply when i'm in the wings because it is forever coming off)
*tea bags (I like St. Darfour's with lemon.)
*my old starbucks mug (for the tes)
*Vocal Eze Herbal Throat Spray (clears phlegm in a heartbeat or less)
*peppermints (for after the vocal eze, which tastes terrible)
*extra tights
*a pair of black flats (in case someone forgets their shoes, these will work in a pinch. luckily my whole cast wear the same size. girls anyway)
*Lait de Chevre Goat's Milk Lip Balm (leaves my lips supermega soft)
*a change of clothes (for after the show)
*mini sewing kit (if i have time i like to fix my ripped skirt)
*my giant theatre bag

I know there's more, but this is what comes to the top of my mind.
Current Role: Louise Lerman/Eve (Judy's Assistant) in "Ruthless!" by Marvin Laird.
Recently: Lala Levy in "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" by Alfred Uhry.
