i know how disappointing it is to have a song-- and then all your lines-- cut. when i did jekyll and hyde, i got the part of nellie. at the auditions, they made it seem like they were doing the fullerton version (the one where nellie has a song and a lot more lines). well, you don't announce you are doing a show you can't get the rights to.... i ended up having no singing/song and maybe two lines? the story goes on, but i won't bore you!
anyway, make the most out of rapunzel. you might only have 4 lines, but she is an absolute nut, so milk it. don't upstage but create a character for yourself. make it more of a physical role. when i did ITW, the girl who played rap had a beautiful voice but they cut our little world, too-- she still had a great time w/ the role.
try not to get too frustrated or down. have fun! you never know-- someone might get sick or not be able to do the show and you will get "bumped up".......
