Re:resume critique - 2008/03/01 14:26 Do you know your exact vocal range?
I always think that looks good on resume's is knowning exactly, because you never know exactly what kind of notes you'll need to sing a certain role.

Example:

Vocal Range: Tenor (B2-B6)

What kind of character voices can you do? Being specific could work in your favor.

Also, maybe instead of "plays some piano" maybe write "Intermediate piano", or "proficient piano". same with your French.

And maybe instead of: Past shows, Past Classes.

You can put
Theatre
Concert performances (something along this line)
TRAINING
then your special skills?
(in this order)

It's a matter of preference, but I just think it's professional and neat, and your resume looks good! So hopefully my suggestions have helped a bit.
Name: Bruce
Current Production: None.
Upcoming Auditions:

The Butler Did It Singing (Chandler)

Re:resume critique - 2008/03/01 17:41 Nice resume of your own is helpful , but usually not needed, unless you are auditioning for something going on tour, where you will get a call back from their file of your resume. However, if you plan on going beyond theatre(films,t.v.,etc.). unless it is an open audition, it should be filed with an agency. At least 30 of each. Head shots and credits. Most agencies prefer only black and white head shots, usually 8by10. Most theatres carry their own audition sheets at the time of the auditions with the info they want Good Luck! Retired from the business after more than 35 years doing mostly character roles, Concentrating now on musical theatre, teaching and directing. Active in A.E.A. and S.A.G. Love to help young performers get started

Retired from the business, after over thirty five years. Do mostly character spots now, teach and direct theatre now, and still active in A.E.A. and S.A.G.. Love to help young people get started
