Performance Improvement Club? - 2006/12/30 15:27 Since we were discussing performing-related new year's resolutions, I had an idea to start a "club" for performance improvement. Each month I could post a challenge or "assignment" for the month that everyone could work on and discuss. The problem with New Year's resolutions is that we have to keep ourselves motivated... this could help.

Is anyone interested in doing this?

Re:Performance Improvement Club? - 2006/12/30 15:53 Sounds great! I'd be totally interested (provided school doesn't get too crazy this semester. It shouldn't since the 300 costume show is over and done with ) Kathleen Sera
Current Shows: Aloha Pinafore - Volga
Upcoming Auditions: Crazy For You - Irene Roth

Re:Performance Improvement Club? - 2006/12/30 15:58 Yes please!!! My school has an improv and drama club but with hockey, liturgical choir, and school, I never have any time. I am completely willing to participate and I'd love to help too. Shelby

Re:Performance Improvement Club? - 2006/12/30 16:16 Yay! I think the club needs a clever name though... hmm.

I'm also wondering if we should go monthly or bi-weekly...

Re:Performance Improvement Club? - 2006/12/30 19:18 yes! this would help me alot, my school doesn't have a drama club. we did call practices for one mini performance we had, but we barely focused on improving individually. we just sang songs from other musicals. and this would help me for when i get to highschool. *´¨)

Re:Performance Improvement Club? - 2006/12/30 19:37 Great! I am setting up the section on the site for it now.

If anyone has any ideas they can PM them.

I will post the first challenge on New Years Day.

Re:Performance Improvement Club? - 2006/12/30 19:40 Oh yes! This is something I'd love to do. To go into acting is like asking for admission to an insane asylum. Anyone may apply, but only the certifiably insane are admitted.

Re:Performance Improvement Club? - 2006/12/31 01:44 I'm so glad there's so much interest for this!

I actually have the first assignment almost ready to go already...

I have decided the assignments will come out every two weeks. That way they can be smaller and we will manage our time better - baby steps are the way to go!

I will also be adding in some little "habits" that we can work on that will help our bodies and minds!

Re:Performance Improvement Club? - 2007/01/01 07:36 Sounds great! But the helpful habits are reminding me of my most hated class. Otherwise it'll be great!! The opposite of Rent is Oklahoma!!! Why didn't I think of that?
