Competition Repertoire- Senior Project - 2008/05/01 19:52 The light at the end of the tunnel! I can see it! Yep- so I'm gettin' to the end of my junior year, so we're beginning plans for next year, when I'll be vice president!

BASICALLY in past years, when we go to competitions, freshmen don't typically compete. The biggest obstacle is that they don't know how to pick a competition song or scene. There's no department at all at the middle school, so they know NOTHING when they get to high school.

SO- I'm trying to build a competition repertoire. I'll get sheet music to all these songs, find recordings of them, and then help the freshmen pick a song that's good for them. (Basically what we do on this site!)

It needs to be a song that can stand on its own, and probably not too difficult. The categories are solo (male/female, comedic/dramatic) and duet (comedic/dramatic). I've got a good start, but I know there's WAY more out there- shows I don't know. If you have some ideas- PLEASE post!!!

Thanks so much!
Kris
