Tess - Crazy For You - 2008/04/04 00:56 So my show is at the end of the month, and we haven't gotten to blocking this scene yet but I'm really not sure how she is supposed to be reacting...
It's the scene after Zangler agrees to do the show and then he says that he was doing this all for Tess, and then she says "No kidding....This isn't like you." and then he says "I know. That's what worries me."
The stage direction under that say "You think about this for a beat, then exit."
What am I thinking about? Am I like, "whoa, he actually does love me" or am I supposed to be feeling something for him back? I understand the line, but I just don't know what my reaction should be... like, am I happy or sad? I think I might just be confused but I'm really not sure how I should play it off.
suggestions?

Re:Tess - Crazy For You - 2008/04/04 01:21 What do you think she is thinking about? That is the great part of being an actor, you get to make things your own and play the character how ever you want, just do whatever you think she would do. Hope this helps and Break a leg Favorite Shows: POTO, Wicked, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Legally Blonde, Hairspray, BATB, Music Man and more!

Re:Tess - Crazy For You - 2008/04/04 20:52 Man, Christine hit that out of the park! That is great advice! When I played Sowerberry (Oliver), he was this gruff old guy who had a soft spot for kids. When I played Prof. Marvel (OZ) he was this gruff old guy who loved kids. When I played John Arable (Char's Web) he was...(a gruff old guy who loved kids?).

It is not to say if I played Horton (Seussical) he would be a "gruff old guy who loved kids", but if I didn't know how the character felt, I would listen to my still small voice.

Tess, trust your feelings and you are going to be great!
