Good Things About Seussical - 2007/10/16 19:28 So my choir director is supposed to be announcing our musical pretty soon. There is a group of us that are really pulling for Seussical and I was wondering if any of you guys had some good reasons to do the show. I have seen it and think it would be a ton of fun. Let me know if any of you were in it, how it was. Thanks! -Eric
Favorite Role: Jean Valjean
Currently: Parchester, the Family Solicitor in Me and My Girl and getting ready for college auditions

Re:Good Things About Seussical - 2007/10/17 07:20 I've been in it twice. (And ironically enough, I'm going to be in it again this spring...) It was really fun! A few good things about it for you:

~It's a very light-hearted show. People will leave happy.

~It's a good family show. Shows with family themes bring in more people.

~It can have a lot of people, or just a few.

~It doesn't need that complicated of a set or costumes. Think simple. (And inexpensive...)

~It full of well-known characters. (Who doesn't know Horton the elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and the Whos??)
This isn't a golf tournament, being loud is more than acceptable!

Re:Good Things About Seussical - 2007/10/30 22:32 Tell him as a director the show is so much FUN!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED directing this show.. it can BE ANYTHING which is really great for us directors to once in a while get to be creative.

Now I am a SNOB when it comes to shows but this show is too much fun to be snobbish. I want to do it again, but didn't submit it for next season as it got the poo poo last season.

Re:Good Things About Seussical - 2007/11/28 15:32 You can be really creative with everything from the set to the costumes! It is good for all ages and is a blast to be in direct or even just watch.

Although if your director is hesatant he has a valid reason because of the way it is done and it is put on a lot by elementary schools it is sometimes unfairly considered a not that great musical. I disagree and hopefully your director will see otherwise to

Re:Good Things About Seussical - 2007/12/28 17:40 its a very fun show, all the characters are such fun to play, the costumes could be either expensive or inexpensive, tons of families will come to it because it is definately a family show, lots of people will enjoy it, and you can get real creative with it. ~ Kaitlin ~ Always Rockin The Boat ~
