The Fantasticks - 2006/11/02 05:20 I had posted about this earlier but I had some more questions. If a director for The Fantasticks had to chose between a person who has a belting voice but a small range and omeone who had a softer voie, better range, and lots of dance (specifically intense ballet) training, who do you think would have the upper hand not considering "favorites" and the like? I really want to audition but I guess I need some convincing. Is The Fantasticks really as "ballet-centered" as the page on this website says? I've never seen it so I have no idea. Thanks.

Is that the smell of sulfur?
Oh its a stage effect!

Release your davits and jump!

-I've had a vision!
-Of disaster?
-No, of azaleas!

There is a curious paradox that no one can explain: who understands the secrets of the reaping of the grain? Who understands why spring is born out of winter's laboring pain, or why we all must die a bit before we grow again? I do not know the secret, although I know it's true. I hurt them for that reason. And myself a little bit too.

Re:The Fantasticks - 2006/11/02 06:19 This is an impossible question to answer as it depends on the quality on the voice as well as many other factors, but you will notice from the show info page that the role of Luisa requires a high B.

Every audition notice I have ever come across for this show specifies that you should come dressed to move.

Re:The Fantasticks - 2006/11/03 04:38 My dance audition for it involved a ballet combo.

Now, not being a ballet dancer AT ALL, I did fairly well. It really does depend on the choreographer... but be prepared for it.

Re:The Fantasticks - 2006/11/04 15:15 I'm nog sure about the dancing but I think Luissa needs a pretty good range
