introducing myself! - 2007/01/07 19:21newbie...so i'll do the requisite questionnaire business and hope to get lots of helpful advice and support from all of you!
Name: Elizabeth Claire Lawrence Age: 22 What's your favorite show?: that I've done...either Jekyll and Hyde or Oklahoma. Least Favorite Show?: Wizard of Oz and Grease. sorry grease fans! Your favorite role you've had: Laurey in Oklahoma What is your ultimate dream role??: it was Laurey, but I wouldn't mind playing it again....besides that, probably Julie Jordan in Carousel, the Mother in Ragtime, Maria in West Side Story. How did You get into theatre?: i started singing with a professional chorus when i was 8, so my elementary school teacher recruited me to play amaryllis in the high school production of the music man. i probably stunk, but i had a lot of fun! Something you can't live without (You can't say anything theatre related): junk food and trashy tv. heehee. Any Random Fears: sharks and deep water. If you had to eat one thing forever what would it be?: sushi! Play Any Sports?: dance (ballet and jazz) Favorite Color: um, green or blue. What's your voice part: soprano Anything else? i'm a first-year in law school because i don't think i have the talent or (more importantly) drive/self-confidence to take on the professional theater scene. i'm at the university of chicago law school so i'm trying to break into the chicago theater scene which is RIDICULOUSLY hard compared to my old locale (but to be expected!). i'm trying out for a ton of shows now hoping just to get my foot in the door with ensemble roles...looking forward to learning from the amazing singer and actors in chicago and on this board!

I'm not from Chicago but it's one of my favorite places to be (my uncle lives in Lincoln Square, I believe it's called) and I plan on going to college there and/or moving there to act and live post-college.
