Re:An audio of me singing "Home" - 2008/01/24 16:42
AW RACHEL! This is not bad at all! Like you said about the balance and the few minor pitch problems was all their was about this piece that could possibly be negative. I could really feel the emotion and that's what artistic, real singing is about.
Even with pitch problems I could tell their was no lack of confidence in your voice. I love the fact that you used vibrato, because usually with belty songs like that and ingenue roles like Belle theirs little to none used because of the sake of sounding pop-y. *rolls eyes*
However on the last "Free..." you have quite enough time to take a nice supported breath, and in my own opinion of course, I feel it sounds best starting a semi strong un-vibrant onsent, then easing into your vibrato with slow descrescendo off of the note.
Another way would be to take that strong supported breath before the end of the last note just use a nice gentle controlled vibrato, doing the descrescendo off of the note. If your going to use your vibrato.
When I hear endings like the ending of "Home" I think of bird floating away maybe even a butterfly and thats the sort of sound (in my opinion) should be achieved by that ending.
I think that's all! Haha
Great Job Honey!
