Fantine again? - 2007/03/07 00:39 Hi! My name's Christina, I'm 13 and I just joined this board after lurking for awhile *ends introduction*

Well, my school finished the last preformance of Les Miserables this Saturday. Playing Fantine was a challenge, but it was a blast!

So anyway, my voice teacher invited the Director of a theatre nearby. This afternoon, the Director called and raved about how much he loved my singing. He wants me to play Fantine at [i[his[/i] theatre this summer. While I wish I could vary my parts, this is still exciting because this theatre is well-known in our community. I feel kind of bad for leaving the community theatre I play at now (Grease in two weeks!), but oh well. This one is better

~Christina
Current Role: Fantine-Les Miserables (opens: May 26-29)

Re:Fantine again? - 2007/03/07 07:22 That is fantastic! I know you said you wanted to vary your roles, but there's another way to look at this. You're so good at Fantine, this director wants you to make his show look even better! To go into acting is like asking for admission to an insane asylum. Anyone may apply, but only the certifiably insane are admitted.

Re:Fantine again? - 2007/03/07 08:40 Wow! What an honor! I understand wanting to vary roles, but this isn't a chance that often comes around. Enjoy it and keep us updated. Shelby

I'm 14. Can I play too?

I can understand the whole "vary your roles" thing, but being asked to perform like that is pretty flattering! Congrats!

Oh, me three!!! Haha. Great job! Fantine is one of my favorite parts ever. I've never gotten to play her, but if given the chance, I definitely would.
Hey yo!
Let's go to the mo-fro (Melody Freeze),
To get a fro yo (frozen yogurt),
then we'll stop by the scho-sho (Scholorshop),
on our way to WYSO (World Youth Symphony Orchestra)!

Just a little saying from Interlochen, possibly one of the greatest places on the globe!

Re:Fantine again? - 2007/04/26 16:50 Oh, I would love to be Fantine. My director wants to be Les Mis, but only when the real version, not the student edition is available. I'm hoping I'll still be around then, and not in college or dead or something. Psalm 42:8
