Beauty and the Beast dancing - 2007/02/04 23:40
Hey all.
As you know,I auditioned for my high school's production of Beauty and the Beast,and was aiming for the role of Mrs. Potts or Madame de la Grande Bouche.Well,I didn't get either of those,I didn't even get a callback...BUT:
There was reason for that.The choreographer told me that he put me as a wolf,and as a napkin because they both have dancing roles (the wolf chases are pretty intense),and the napkins will have a lot of dancing (we haven't choreographed "Be Our Guest" or "Human Again" yet,but he said it'll be pretty cool).
I'm so excited!
And if any of you are wondering...My general audition (monologue,Be Our Guest and Beauty and the Beast) went OK,but I could've done much better,but that's life.I screwed up my monologue and had to make things up and cut it short,I sang Be Our Guest really well,but my timing was really off for Beauty and the Beast.
However,my dance audition went great!It was pretty easy for me considering I'm a dancer,I wasn't nervous at all,and I just had a lot of fun.
The combo was:
Right foot,pivot turn,pivot turn
-step and tap left foot,right foot,left foot,right foot
-repeat
-chasse right foot 4 counts and bring arms up
-chasse left foot 4 counts and bring arms up-kick ball change
-chasse left foot
-tour jete-pencil turn left
-pencil turn right
-right split-bring knees in and spin to side
-hand back
-roll up
-tap left foot,right foot,left foot,right foot
-step
-pirouette en dehors to right.
