Governor's School - 2006/12/20 22:55
At the end of this week, I am sending in my application package to the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts. We had to fill out a lot of forms, film ourselves doing a monologue, and write a maximum of two pages double-spaced that conveyed our passion for theatre, the obstacles we've already come across, what we hope to do in the future, and a few other things. The thing I had the most trouble on was the essay. I have a lot of problems with length- I tend to write four pages to everyone else's one. But I managed to only write three and a half and my English teacher is cutting it down. I know what to cut, just not how to cut it. My monologue was Elizabeth's from Catholic Schoolgirls by Casey Kurtti.
So keep your fingers crossed for me! I really want to go to this, although I think it will be one of the hardest things I'll ever do in my life, should I be accepted.
Auditioning for: Brigadoon, theatre season, American Music Theatre, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, and AMDA.
