I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) - 2007/01/01 03:20 I am a HUGE fan of the performer named Meat Loaf...I love his work, it's so theatrical and very broadway-like...so why hasn't anyone done a play with his work? Someone tell me that because I love his work and would like a play done with that. Anyone else feel the same way? Melchi Gabor, he's such a radical!!!

Re:I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) - 2007/01/01 15:52 Nah, not really. His music has never made me think of Broadway, but I don't know a lot of his stuff.

When my brother was in his early teens, he came up with the idea of making a musical to Billy Joel's songs. Four years later we found out that "Movin Out" was opening on Broadway, and we were all like "D'oh!"

So maybe you should think about acting on your idea.
Current Show: Coppelia (Swanhilda's friend)
Shows in the Last Year:
The Nutcracker(Spanish Chocolate, The Prissy Doll)
Little Shop of Horrors (Ronnette), Ragtime (Evelyn Nesbit), Urinetown (Little Sally),
Schoolhouse Rock Live (Dori),

Re:I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do Th - 2007/01/05 01:43 I don't know him enough to say , but why don't you give it a try? It could be a very cool project, to put on a show with songs from a performer you really like. If you have the time, of course! -- Marie

Currently:
- Fraülein Kost/Officer/A Lady/German Singer in Cabaret (December)
(That's what happens when you put on a production with only 10 people in the cast)
- Rehearsing for a Sondheim Tribute (October 1st)

Re:I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) - 2007/01/12 02:40 o that would be pretty cool..i have only heard one of his songs though. It was a duet that he did with, i think this is her name, Marion from M2M(if you remember them)...yea, it's pretty good. If you haven't heard it, you can find the music video for it pretty easily...i think somewhere on the forums you said you were 12, so maybe you should pitch the idea to some adults to help you with it if you wanted to produce a musical from some of his songs

Re:I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) - 2007/01/12 03:20 Meatloaf ... that is a Performer. From Hair (LA production) to EDDIE in the original "Rocky Horry Picture Show." He recorded several songs from "Whistle Down the Wind." which was collaborated with Jim Steinman, who wrote MOST of Meatloaf's greatest Hits.
Using his music would be a most Theatrical Experience, but if you'd ever seen him live on stage, you would realize it already was a Theatrical Experience. So much room for staging with any of his songs. If you want to do something like that, do it quick ...
In 2000 during a run of "Jesus Christ Superstar", another actor and I started putting together a hilarious stage project. Before we finished the treatment, the original author finished his stage treatment of the same piece ...called "THE PRODUCERS" ... so I lost out on that one too... OH WELL
