Ugh, I don't know what to do! - 2008/03/16 10:33 So, I've recently become more interested in theatre. I've been in some school shows, but I want to do more. But, my parent's schedule basically restricts it. So, to kind of open up the idea of it, I want to go to a summer camp. So, I REALLY REALLY want to go to Theatre Three's teen workshop. It's a regional theatre, highly respected, and they're doing HSM. But, its Mon-Thurs 1-4, around $500.

Or, I can go to Creative Ministries PAC. It's a community theatre. I've heard some good things, but I've also heard they're unorganized, unprofessional, rude, and that the summer camp is not fun at all. Its mostly acting/vocal/dance work, 1-4 pm, around $300.

My Mom is really leaning toward CM, but I want to go to TT sooo bad. But i f they'll only let me go to CM though, I'll definitly do it.

What should I do to convince my mom? The reason there would be a problem with Mon (or Tues, it depends) and Thurs is because both of my parents would be working, and I would have to watch my little sister.

So, they would need a babysitter for 2 days, for half the summer.
Ahhhh what should I do?

Re:Ugh, I don't know what to do! - 2008/03/16 21:01 I am really sorry to hear about your problem. Would it be possible to get any of your friends to babysit for cheap/ free? You could see if your sister could possibly go over to a friends house sometimes. Good Luck working it out, I hope you get to do the camp you want! Current: none
Upcoming: Les Miserables ('09)

Re:Ugh, I don't know what to do! - 2008/03/20 13:38 Here's the thing, there will always be kids, there will always be vexations and things to get in your way but ya can't let it stop you. I have 4 children of my own and it would be easy to never do a show again but that won't be good for me or my children. Tell you're parents how important this is to you and ask for their help in figuring out a solution. Neighborhood babysitter, grandparents, whatever. You could even offer to get a job after camp is done to help pay for the babysitter. Parents LOVE to see committment and willingness to work for what you want.
