Think of how akward it would be to break up during tech week and to have to see each other for the entire run?

Re:Backstage Relationships - 2008/02/13 19:39 Aww I'm a fan of showmances, lol. It worked (kinda) for me. I was in a professional production my senior year of high school and the cast was tiny- only 4 people. The whole production team was only the director, stage manager, and two producers. I started dating someone in the cast (who was 9 1/2 years older than me) and SOMEHOW we managed to hide it from everyone for a good three or four months (the show ran six months) but then we were kind of obvious, but it didn't get in the way of what was happening on stage. Everyone thought we were really cute together, and we stayed together for 1 year and 7 months! We've since broken up, but it was amicable. So it pretty much worked out. The thing is just to know how to be professional about everything and leave it at the door. ~*~ Kris ~*~

Re:Backstage Relationships - 2008/02/17 10:38 It really can go either way. If you break up though it really sucks for veryone because there is this tension luckily I work with my exs and such and we are fine. SO if you really feel it go for it I say don't let love pass.
Plus everyone has crushes in the cast most aren't serious.

Re:Backstage Relationships - 2008/02/24 00:43 soooo, my two best friends at the company are a guy and a girl, and lately its been obvious that they really like each other and its sort of awkward because I'm suddenly the third wheel...as always.

if you're in a backstage ship, don't be awkward!

Re:Backstage Relationships - 2008/02/25 02:49 When i was in eighth grade i wrote, directed, and starred in our school play. My leading man was dating one of our tech people but I secretly really liked him. After the show was over they broke up and he asked me out. I ended up breaking it off after three glorious months. I didnt want to but i kept getting made fun of and couldn't handle it. Now here I am almost three years later and I'm still crazy about him. How's that for backstage drama?!?! Current Role- Much Ado About Nothing--Friar Francis and Cinderella--Wandering Minstrel

Dream Roles- Elphaba (Wicked), Peter (Peter Pan), Sandy or Rizzo (Grease), Cinderella, (Cinderella), Velma Kelly (Chicago), Christine (Phantom of the Opera)
