SHOCKING! - 2008/01/22 20:45You may have heard already but...Heath Ledger died! Might not effect some but I loved his movies (10 things I Hate About You, Brokeback Mountain, A Knights Tale, etc.). It's a shame that he is so young. I hate to gossip, but police say it could be suicide/drug overdose.

Re:SHOCKING! - 2008/01/22 21:17i have always really liked heath ledger. A Knight's Tale is one of my favorite moves, as is The Patriot. and i have quite an affinity toward 10 Things I Hate About You.
the reports are saying that there is no obvious indication of suicide. there was a bottle of prescription sleeping pills. perhaps it was an accidental overdose. (in a nov interview w/ The New York Times, he noted that his latest projects were doing a number on his body and he wasn't sleeping much.)
this is hardly the biggest and saddest story in the news but i was very shocked and sad when i heard. i kinda stopped in my tracks and called a few people. i liked heath ledger as an actor and i think it was admirable that he didn't capitalize on his looks and took on edgier projects. his death is sad not only because he was young and a good film actor but because he has a baby daughter. it is also sad b/c it is the second young actor in a week to die (brad renfro died last week-- also drug/alcohol related).They call me Jessica (like: They call me lady luck... lol)

Re:SHOCKING! - 2008/01/23 17:55Now it's being said he was having a lot of trouble sleeping and got less than 2hrs a night. He would take some and wake up an hour or so later. So that would explain things.
I went to French class today and some people were buzzing about it. I hadn't realized how big he was [ in my school at least].
Well, I'm not as shocked anymore but I'm still going to miss his films. RIP!Name: Devyn

Re:SHOCKING! - 2008/01/23 22:08Yeah, people were talking about it at my school. Some believe he did it on purpose, some don't. I'm in the latter group. As many people, including my mother and one of my teachers, remarked, they can see how people get addicted to drugs. My mom (she pinched a nerve in her back last month) said that when she had a lot of pain, she couldn't beleive she had to wait another three hours before taking more medicine because she wanted the pain gone THEN. She waited, but she said that when people are in extreme pain (or are desperate for rest), you take more than you need figuring, 'why not, it has to help'.Auditioning for: Brigadoon, theatre season, American Music Theatre, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, and AMDA.

Re:SHOCKING! - 2008/01/24 11:22Yeah, I keep hearing various things about it, like it was an overdose, or the cause of mixing drugs, yada yada. I also even heard that the drugs belonged to one of the Olsen twins!
