Zombie Prom? - 2008/02/11 11:16 OKay, so this summer at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival, our high school went through the American High School Theatre Festival. About twenty other schools were chosen from the US to go. When we were there, we were required to see the other High School's shows. We took Chicago. We saw shows like Les Mis, Once on this Island, things like that.

One of the shows that we saw was called "Zombie Prom." I didn't know if anyone had heard of/seen it before. Apparently it was off-broadway for a couple of months then closed. Also, it was made into a short-movie in 2006 starring RuPaul.
It's actually a cute show. It's a lot like Grease with both the music and plot. High school setting, 50's music; just add a zombie to Grease and it's basically the same thing..

If you want a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombie_Prom to wikipedia it's there.

I was just curious to see if anyone knows of it and what they think!
"If life seems jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten. And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing"

Currently: Nothing! So sad..

Favorite Roles: Cosette in Les Miserables

Dream Roles: Lady of the Lake (Spamalot), Val (A Chorus Line), Millie Dillmount (Thoroughly Modern Mille)

Re:Zombie Prom? - 2008/02/11 13:31 I played Candy in Zombie Prom in a youth production in 1999 and loved it! Probably the most the fun I've ever had in a show. It's just a really funny musical. Most of us in the cast even got together 2 years later and drove 2 hours to see a professional theatre do the show (Which is actaully a lot of people beucase we did an expanded production with 30 people instead of just the original 10). I have the CD of the original cast and still listen to it on a regular basis. Would love to play Miss Strict or Toffee someday.

Had no idea it had been filmed, though! Wonder if there's a copy out there somewhere..
