In this movie, CAMP (and Stephen Sondheim is in it -squee)

I SO love that movie! Its practically unheard of but its one of my favorites. I love it when Spitzer says to that big byatch "I think I know your sister, Cinderella?" Makes me laugh all the time.

On a somewhat related note, there's another movie called Connie and Carla (Nia Vardalos and Toni Collette) where these two women pretend to be drag queens to escape the mob. Hilarious movie. ANYWAY, right before they go on stage they always say, "Chin up, boobs out, it's showtime!"

Even though I'm a boy I always say that before I go out to perform. Always helps calm the nerves and makes me giggle.

Re:What's your favorite cliche theater saying? - 2008/04/17 22:04 my favorite theatre saying is there are no small parts just small actors, because it is so true! In a show I was in this girl had no lines, all she did was go on stage and faint about once every other scene, and people remembered her more than some of the leads!

We actually have a sign at school that says that. I cracked up the first time I read it. One of my friends decided to test it by messing with a pillow, and she actually got attacked by the stage manager throwing the pillow.

Re:What's your favorite cliche theater saying? - 2008/04/25 23:48 Before we went on stage my cast gathered and did a sort of... I don't know...huddle ending with a "3...2...1... Pigeon!" From the Mo Williems Pigeon books. Current Role: Louise Lerman/Eve (Judy's Assistant) in "Ruthless!" by Marvin Laird.
Recently: Lala Levy in "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" by Alfred Uhry.
