i have an audition in June for a junior production of "Once Upon a Mattress" and i have no idea what song to sing. I'm not even sure what part to try out for...i'm gonna keep researching, but i figured it would be good to post this first to see if anyone could help me.

Songs i was thinking of:
Astonishing from Little Women
Always True to You in My Fashion from Kiss Me Kate

and i haven't figured out anymore. Just so you know i am fifteen, brown hair, tan skin, average height, with a mezzo range. Thanks for all the (hopefully) future help!! to Fly you don't need WINGS...only DREAMS!!

Princess Fred--mezzo/belt
Lady Larkin--sporano
Queen Agrivain--alto

the big audition song for Fred would be "Johnny One Note" because the structure of the song is so similar to "Shy." If you're going to sing that one you'll have to knock it out of the ball park because you won't be the only one.

I don't know about "Always True to You in my Fashion" it might be a little too cole porter and Fred and Larkin are much more complex characters than Lois Lane. i don't know much about "Astonishing"
if you have 32 bars i think "Gimme Gimme" from Thoroughly Modern Millie, starting at "i don't care if he's a nobody" has a similar feel to "Happily Ever After," especialy the "bring it home" section ("here i am st valentine")
