Les Mis Callback - 2008/05/01 12:33 I have my call back for Les Mis on saturday.

I was called back for the parts of Fantine and Cosette.
I have a question...... do you think it is TOTALLY neccesary tp belt "I Dreamed a Dream"?

Oh, Please get back fast!!!

Re:Les Mis Callback - 2008/05/01 12:47 I belt it except for the notes at the end. The impact of the song is better and more profound if most is belted except for the higher stuff at the end. It's more somber, I think. Do what you think sounds best and feels right. :] Currently: Penelope Sycamore in You Can't Take It With You
Past: Henrietta (Honk Jr.)

and the way i figure is, that it's just a call back.

If they like the sound, but want me to belt it more... they can tell me to do so when I'm fantine! haha

Re:Les Mis Callback - 2008/05/01 19:23 When i sing "I dreamed a dream", I start out soft in the beginning and eventually build up to my belt and then not belt the very last line. I like to think of it as if the character was speaking the song as if she was telling her story, when would she be angry and when would she start to cry? In those emotional places, I belt. --Ashley--

Re:Les Mis Callback - 2008/05/02 09:30 I belt the higher stuff like "I dreamed that love would never die" and I intentionally waver a bit during "I dreamed that god would be forgiving" as if she's going through a lot, you know... If someone asked for it, I would write down my emotions for each line. Haha! :] Good luck with your callback. Currently: Penelope Sycamore in You Can't Take It With You

LUCKY! (I am still waitng for a Les Mis audition and I don't think one is coming)

I would belt it as much as you can (mainly from "But the tigers come at night" To "So different now from what it seemed")If you cant belt it make it strong somehow.. Break a leg!
