Song for talent shows - 2008/02/10 16:23OK, every year, my school puts on a talent show, and I have made it my mission to bring some culture to the school and do a Broadway song every year.
This year, I'm possibly going to do two songs, one of which would be "I'm Not That Girl" from Wicked (Before you say anything, nothing theatre related is overdone at my school, since I'm relatively the only one who likes it. This way, I can choose pretty much anything I want and most people won't know what it is.) Since "I'm Not That Girl" shows off my lower range, and it's a ballad, I was looking for something more uptempo and higher for my second piece.
My comfortable range is Eb3 to Eb5, though I want to stay away from some lower notes since that shows in the other song. I'd like something uptempo, and maybe a little bit comedic.
Any suggestions?Melchi Gabor, he's such a radical!!!

Re:Song for talent shows - 2008/02/12 16:35Taylor the Latte Boy. It's has great potential for people who don't like showtunes to like it, it's comedic and balad-ish,but it's also peppy!I Rent a Wicked apartment on Avenue Q! (Unfortunatly, it's haunted by a Phantom) Sarah

Re:Song for talent shows - 2008/02/29 14:41you can totally ignore me on this post.... but my friend sang "I'm not that girl" for the talent show this year, and she was amazing. It's just that nobody really got into it because it was so slow. While it's an AMAZING song... i don't know.

Re:Song for talent shows - 2008/03/15 15:32Thanks you guys, I just wanted to let you know that I made the talent show! Yay me! After I auditioned I got to thinking...maybe I'll beg the lady who runs the talent show to let me do "The Dark I Know Well" also...since I only auditioned with "I'm Not That Girl"
I'm already planning next year's song...Woe Is Me (and I'll see if I can get two of my friends to be my 'dads.')Melchi Gabor, he's such a radical!!!
