Bad Theater Experiences - 2008/01/12 23:04 Although we know almost everyone on MTA probbaly has at least one great storie to tell and probably tons of great experiences to share.
I think we all know theater isn't all sunshine rainbows onstage and off.

I thought it would be interesting to here about peoples positive theater experiences and how they learned from them.

Re:Bad Theater Experiences - 2008/05/02 15:43 Here's the first one that came to mind.

When I did Once on This Island, during the song "Rain", everyone had black umbrellas with blue and silver streamers on them. There wasn't really any choreography, but we were directed to basically powerwalk/dance around the stage and twirl and swirl the OPEN umbrellas to make it look like rain. Well, someone's umbrella spoke got me right in the eye! Well, not my actual eyeball (that would've been awful!) but more like really really dangerously close to my eyeball. And boy did it hurt! I was okay though. Stupid umbrellas. haha.

I'm sure I'll think of more later. I like this post. hehe.

Re:Bad Theater Experiences - 2008/05/02 16:18 When I auditioned for High School Musical, I was wearing a pair of shoes I had worn in other shows. When I got to the choreography part, however, they kept flying off. I took them off and tried to do the combination, but it was a raked stage and I fell on my face in front of everyone. ~Sarah~

Upcoming: Once On This Island, Footloose

Past Shows: Godspell, Damn Yankees, Little Shop of Horrors, Grease, Guys and Dolls

Re:Bad Theater Experiences - 2008/05/02 20:23 I brought on the wrong prop once. I was supposed to bring on a chair for my mother to sit in, but instead I brought on a tray of punch. By the time I realized, I was halfway onstage.

I will never space out like that again!
