Re:Awkward Stage Kissers - 2008/04/30 23:19 In Snow White, our Prince was being played by the director's son. (It's not favoritism, we just literally had 2 guys try out! the joys of Community Theatre, right?) He's 14. At rehearsal one day, we were blocking the final scene, which, of course, included the kiss.

The Prince and SW were in a weird position when the kiss came, because Snow White was still in her coffin after being poisoned by the apple. SW and the prince were having trouble getting the kiss to work, so our director got up, sat down next to them, and proceeded to choreograph every little movement of the kiss. Meanwhile, her son is turning bright red.

Not to mention the entire cast was watching these shenanigans and cracking up.

I know, we're reaaal mature.
I'm Micaela. But you can call me Mickey!

Currently: Taking a much needed BREAK!

Dream Roles- Lucy in YGMCB, Penny in Hairspray (She's hysterical!), Anything in Oklahoma.

That happens all the time with a group I work with. We hardly have any guys try out in the first place, forget getting decent performers. In Godspell (well, Godspell Jr, but there's not too much difference), two years ago, we had a cast of twenty people, which was divided as follows: seventeen girls, three guys (it could've possibly ended up eighteen-two, but the director decided to divide up Judas and John the Baptist). In the Gethsemane + crucifixion scene, the director had Judas kiss my hand (I was Jesus). Judas and I didn't really care - people, it's a hand. Our fellow cast, on the other hand *cough*, thought it was terribly funny that with the crazy ratio, there was still a kiss involving two guys. It was somewhat ironic, I grant you, but good grief.

Re:Awkward Stage Kissers - 2008/05/05 00:45 This isn't mine but it was the most hilarious thing ever. Our school's One Act Play performed for our school one day. And the audience was all of our immature students. So at the end, my friend Mallory's character has to make the first move and go in for the kiss. In the middle of it, some girl stood up and scremed "GET IT GIRL!" at the top of her lungs. They had to kiss a solid minute longer before they could part without laughing. For the rest fo the day people came up to Mal and were like "So, can you kiss me like that?" and such. Current Role: Louise Lerman/Eve (Judy's Assistant) in "Ruthless!" by Marvin Laird.
Recently: Lala Levy in "The Last Night of Ballyhoo" by Alfred Uhry.
