Sir Harry: Once Upon a Mattress - 2007/12/23 19:20 So Recently I auditioned for Once Upon A Mattress at my highschool hoping for the role of Dauntless and I got Sir Harry. Considering that the fact that the person that got Dauntless is "...." to put it in the nicest terms possible. iIt makes me really not want to not do the show honestly but that is another post for another time

Anywho, can anyone give me some ore infomation about this role? Lots of stage time? When you think about character importance where would you place it? Please someone give me a reason to keep this role.

Re:Sir Harry: Once Upon a Mattress - 2007/12/23 20:38 Sir Harry is a great role. It's a pretty good size supporting role. If I were a guy and I was cast as him, I'd definitely keep it. It's been a while since I saw the show, so I'll do my best to describe him. He's kind of the "straight man" of the cast, so if you're looking to play a comedic role, this might not be for you. He's the love interest of Lady Larkin that finds Fred and brings her back to the castle. He and Larkin have a fight during the show, but of course they make up in the end. I can't remember how many songs he has, but I'm pretty sure that he has at least one solo and one duet with Lady Larkin, and I'm pretty sure that he's a tenor. If you keep the part I hope you have fun with it ~Annie

Re:Sir Harry: Once Upon a Mattress - 2007/12/25 00:12 He sings two duets with Lady Larkin, "In a Little While" and "Yesterday I Loved You". He doesn't really act like an idiot like a lot of the male charecter's in Mattress. He is also a jerk. While blocking one of his scenes our director refferred to him as a "male chauvenist pig". This gave us all a good laugh. Anyway, It's a great part that seems like it would be fun to play. --Ashley--
