Solo that involves singing& dancing? - 2008/03/01 18:55 Hi. So now, my highschool does this yearly talent show kind of thing, only there's no winner chosen, and it's mainly theatre.

So I though it would be interesting if I chose a song i could both sing AND dance to.

Well, maybe not at the same time, but you know what I mean. I'm just having trouble thinking of one....

I'd like a song that's relitively high (i'm a soprano), but the voice teacher says nothing super-high until my voice is 100% better.

And another issue is if it's in a music book.... I only own one, and it's not much use.... so it's gotta be pretty popular I guess....

But if i can't find one, I'd gladly just sing. Auditions are on March 19th (my birthday!!!) and the actual thing is in April.

You could incorporate practically any style and just cut out the middle part (so it would end (I don't wanna wear fruit no more/I don't wanna show off and pick up again at Please, no more attention) you can do a fun long note at the end, and a high one if you decide to do the last 'encore'

Do you tap dance? What type of dance do you do? There is a great song called "Tap Your Troubles Away" from a show called "Mack & Mabel". It is perfect if you tap. It's not a soprano song, but it is really a show stopper. I'm a soprano and I can sing this song easy. The show is written by the same music writer who wrote "Hello Dolly" - Jerry Herman. The original Broadway cast was Bernadette Peters and Robert Preston. However, this song was done by another co-starring actress in the show. I've even done this song for auditions and it works great!

Check out other dance shows for singing/dancing songs. "42nd St.", "Chicago", "All That Jazz", "Throughly Modern Millie", "Chorus Line".
