Re:DQ: Drama Games - 2008/01/23 19:02 I hate get-to-know-you drama games. The mingling is lame - especially sense the same people to theatre in schools and community ever year! They used to make me uncomfortable and now they just annoy me!

I love improv drama games though - sometimes. Freeze (you are given a scene and if someone thinks it gets boring you say freeze and take someone's spot and start a new scene that makes sense with what you are doing last - best game ever if you have funny people) and Bus Stop are some faves, but I don't like the ones where you have a circle of people or something and you make up the story as you go, I think it's a waste of time along with get to know you games.

Re:DQ: Drama Games - 2008/01/23 20:46 I don't know about anyone else, but most warm-up games make me more uncomfortable. There are some I love- eg.Screamer.

There is no real point to screamer, everyone looks down and when a designated person says "go", you look at someone. If your eyes meet you scream as loud as you can, then you are out. I find it a really intense bonding moment when you lock eyes with that other person. And besides, its fun when someone from the shop class runs in to check if everyone is okay right after you let out a blood-curdeling scream. yay.

But I love drama and theatre. when people are into the games you can make even the most boring games fun. when you act like you are too cool for it, then it just kinda sucks. but I hate the name game. I loath it with a burning passion. I always have and ALWAYS will.

Re:DQ: Drama Games - 2008/01/23 23:56 oh my goodness, the name game. "say your name and an adjective that begins with the same letter." I hate it. Anyone got any good adjectives that start with L?

Re:DQ: Drama Games - 2008/01/24 11:02 Melissa- I played 'Screamer' in one of my casts (I don't think we had a name for it, though) and it was so fun!

I hate that name-adjctive game. There's barely anythiing that starts with R- there's, like, three of them, and normally I'm with the same group of people.

Don't get me wrong, I love games like Bus Stop and Zip Zap Zop; they're helping me develop my timing and improv skills. I just hate intro games, especially name games. I am not helped by knowing that Tara tap dances. Who cares?
