Peter Pan - 2008/04/16 16:44 Hi everyone!

I've been searching everywhere for a monologue to do for Peter Pan tryouts. It's supposed to be around a minute. I'm trying out for Peter. Anyone have any ideas?
Current Show: Spitfire Grill
Last Show: Laramie Project

You sort of start thinking anything's possible if you've got enough nerve.

Re:Peter Pan - 2008/04/16 22:35 Wow - They want you to do a monologue??? Peter is a boy who never wants to grow up. He always wants to stay a child. However, the role is always played by a female.

You need to find a "tom-boy" type of monologue. The thought comes to mind that you might try to find a monologue that a little boy would do. Or a boy who is just about a teenager - but not yet! There are books out there with children's monologues in them. See if you can find one of those. Or maybe you can recall some monologues you've seen other 11 year old (or so) boys do in the past. Try to avoid monologues about having a crush on a girl. That subject just wouldn't work well for the role of Peter.

Sorry I can't think of anything specific. This is one of my favorite shows. It's really fun.

Re:Peter Pan - 2008/04/17 00:57 When Jbug suggested a "tomboy" monologue what I thought of was Scout from To Kill A Mockingbird. I don't really know the play version of the novel but It might be a good thing to keep in mind. --Ashley--

Re:Peter Pan - 2008/05/03 14:55 Yes. Our library doesn't have it, nor the district so I couldn't put it on hold.

I did find a monologue called trouble at home by Penny Phillips. Here's the link

Do you think that this would be a good one to do?

Re:Peter Pan - 2008/05/04 15:52 It feels like a younger boy monologue, one who gets into mischief; like Peter Pan. Any opinions? Current Show: Spitfire Grill
