Crazy costumes!!! - 2008/03/15 22:58 I thought it would be fun to share what was the craziest costume you ever had to wear in a musical/play!

Mine would have to be when i was in Jungle Book Jr. as King Louie! I had to wear a fuzzy red vest (that purposely made me look fat!) and a matching fuzzy red head dress with a crown on top! It was really hot and so it made me very sweaty!

Also in Joseph..., i got to dress up like a go go girl, i wore a sparkly purple and blue dress with a bright purple wig!!! That was a pretty fun one though !

Feel free to share any crazy costumes you've worn!!!
Favorite Shows: POTO, Wicked, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Legally Blonde, Hairspray, BATB, Music Man and more!

Currently in: R&H's Cinderella as a Stepsister!

Re:Crazy costumes!!! - 2008/03/16 13:02 I had some pretty insane costumes over the past 6-ish years. some of the insanest(is that even a word?) have been:
~pink octopus with pink and green polka dotted hat in Pinnochio
~Toady Daughter (green turtleneck, frog hood, hat with sunflower, striped skirt) in Thumbelina
~Harem girl in Aladdin (I actually loved that one...)
~Munchkin in Wizard of Oz(I had a flower pot hat)
~Wacky Cat in Aristocats
~Director's whaked-up version of hip hop in Godspell(we were all different stereotypes execpt Jesus)
I Rent a Wicked apartment on Avenue Q! (Unfortunatly, it's haunted by a Phantom)

Re:Crazy costumes!!! - 2008/03/16 14:51 well the costume itself wasn't that weird, but I was in Calamity Jane and I had this dress that was supposed to zip up in the back, except the zipper broke. So then we put snaps on it and they fell off. Then they sewed velcro on and THAT came off (the dress was silf so it ripped easily). Finally we were just pinning it together with safety pins, but there were only one or two to hold together the whole back. so while we were waltzing, WITH MY BACK TO THE AUDIENCE, my dance partner was trying to hold my dress together. I'm sure it looked extremely awkward.

Re:Crazy costumes!!! - 2008/03/16 20:59 I am not sure if this counts, but...
During Peter Pan, the crocodile costume was amazingly large, and stuffy. It was 3 separate parts, and I needed 1-2 people to help me put it on! The head piece blocked my peripheral (sp?) vision, and we had to axe the skateboard, because it was too risky with the pit. It was VERY hot inside, and to top it off they decided to line it with a mix of corduroy and flannel. My theater rented the costume, and inside, it's full of signatures from other shows.
Current: none
Upcoming: Les Miserables ('09)
Recent:
Peter Pan- Crocodile

Re:Crazy costumes!!! - 2008/03/18 16:48 this morning, we did a scene from Boys Next Door on the local news, and all I could say when we first arrived was 'wow. We're at a place that I may work at later' (I'd like to minor in broadcast journalism) 'and I'm wearing a present on my head'.

The host of the show heard this and thought it was hilarious. But my hairclip has three of those curly ribbon boquets and several satin ribbons on it. I love it so much!
