Sarah Erdman is a music major at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. She's actually majoring in flute education, but if it was her choice, she'd trade it in for music theatre. On the side she's working on her vocal and dance training as well as being very active in the Laurier Music Theatre club. She's performed in many different musical's including Urinetown, Hair, Sound of Music, and You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. She has yet to play in the pit, though...simply because if you're a flute player in pits...you need to play the sax too. And trying to learn the sax is way down the list below being on the stage. She's also spent alot of time working with costumes, including designing a gold elvis-suit for Bye Bye Birdie and all the matching childrens' outfits in Sound of Music. It was definitely one of her crowning moments to see all that hard work on the stage (and on herself!).
Sarah's also an avid summer camp attender, and spent last August working at the National Music Camp of Canada which includes a phenomenal music theatre program, which specializes in dance and puts on an all-original musical every week.
Her other interests include figure skating, swimming, archery, and knitting. She's generally one of the busiest people you'll ever meet, and if you ever see her in the halls at Laurier, she's probably running from rehearsal to studying or class to lesson...or hiding her love of theatre from her critical flute teacher. She also used to dabble in the oboe: a scary time in her life. |
