Become A MusicalTheatreAudition.com Contributor

To keep up with the demand of the constantly growing site, we are looking for new members to join our team. While these positions are volunteer, there are many perks to consider. The contributor program is a way of recognizing members who contribute in meaningful way to MTA. Not only are contributing members able to participate in event planning, they are also an example to other members of our discussion forum.

Contributors (level 2) are expected to:

- contribute semi-regularly (status will expire after 3 months of inactivity)
- participate in on-topic forum discussions regularly

When positions are available on the MTA team, we will look to contributors first.

Level One
One-time submission:

Brief bio, small photo & site link at the bottom of your article, and your article listed on our "one-time contributors" page. Between 100 and 500 MTA points are awarded for each article, depending on the quality and length.

Level Two
Two to three submissions, semi-regular submissions:

A larger bio, headshot and link on our regular contributors page in addition to 100 - 500 MTA points per article. Contributor status on our message board with access to a contributors-only area for private discussion about upcoming events. Contributor status will expire after 3 months of inactivity.

Columnist: All of these above, plus your own musicaltheatreaudition.com e-mail address, and a special discount on store merchandise.

What counts as a submission?

  • Complete info for a show that is not currently listed on our site, or has been listed but has little or no information posted;
  • A detailed show synopsis;
  • An advice or how-to article, containing information that is not currently covered on MusicalTheatreAudition.com or MusicalTheatreProduction.com;
  • A true-story article that would be of interest to our readers;

If you have expertise in a field related to musical theatre, either onstage or behind the scenes, we are interested in your knowledge! The article should:

We are actively looking for articles on the following topics. If you are considering becoming a contributor, please think about the following:

  • dance - especially descriptions for our new Step Library
  • information for professionals, such as unions, mailings, agents, etc
  • information that is specific to different geographical areas
  • information relevant to musical theatre production, such as directing, costuming, lighting, props, etc.
  • info on Broadway shows currently missing from the database
  • reviews of books of relevance to performers
  • true stories of performances or auditions that inform and educate our readers
  • high quality material for quizzes
